Why Optimal Research

30 years of trial experience in one Central Florida site.

Optimal Research Sites has conducted Phase I through Phase IV studies across endocrinology, pulmonology, psychiatry, and cardiovascular medicine since 1994. Our team has watched the field evolve — and stayed current because our work is always about the next protocol.

We sit at the intersection of Orlando International and Sanford International airports, in the heart of the Central Florida medical corridor. That means rapid sponsor access and a large, diverse participant pool that most single-site locations cannot match.

Common questions

What you're wondering.

Where can I find clinical trials near me in Central Florida?
Our research site is in Orange City, FL (2541 South Volusia Ave., Suite 100), at the center of Volusia and Seminole counties. We enroll participants from Orange City, Deltona, DeBary, DeLand, Lake Helen, Sanford, Lake Mary, Orlando, and Daytona Beach — most are within a 30-minute drive. Browse our open studies online or call 386-218-5911 to find a clinical trial near you.
Is there any cost to participate?
No. All trial-related medical care, study medication, and lab work are provided at no cost. Participants are typically reimbursed for their time and travel.
Will my insurance be charged?
No. Study visits, investigational medication, and study-related labs are paid by the study sponsor, not your insurance.
How long do I have to commit?
It varies by study — anywhere from a few weeks to over a year. Each study page lists the full schedule so you know exactly what you're signing up for.
Will I be seen by a real doctor?
Yes. Every study is overseen by a licensed Principal Investigator and supported by board-certified clinicians and coordinators. You'll receive careful monitoring throughout.
Is this safe?
Every study is reviewed and approved by an independent Institutional Review Board (IRB) before it can enroll a single patient, and is conducted under FDA-regulated Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards. You can stop participating at any time for any reason.
Can I participate if I'm already on medication?
Often, yes — many studies are designed for patients who are already managing a condition. Eligibility depends on the specific protocol; a 5-minute pre-qualification call sorts it out.
